Balconies, roof terraces and flat roofs are exposed to high levels of stress on Mallorca:
The company Isotec offers reliable and modern waterproofing and restoration techniques against moisture damage and mold
Balconies and roof terraces are not only popular with house and apartment owners in the summer months. However, they also offer a lot of scope for potential damage due to wear and tear or weathering. In addition, the renovation of balconies poses a particular challenge from a structural point of view.
From the cause to the resultBalcony decking is exposed to high levels of stress, especially on Mallorca, which can lead to cracks and defects in the decking and waterproofing. Moisture can enter the building through these weak points. Damage is 80 percent attributable to moisture. This not only damages the building fabric, but also increases the risk of mold growth on adjacent interior walls. The ISOTEC system offers a long-term and certified solution for this.
After identifying the cause of the damage, the top layer and the existing waterproofing are removed down to the load-bearing substructure. If necessary, a slurry screed is created to ensure reliable water drainage. This is followed by professional priming of the surface. When renovating balconies, door and wall connections in particular require special attention.
Critical areas are sealed with certified ISOTEC liquid applied plastic or ISOTEC combiflex waterproofing. There are a number of alternatives for the appearance of the protective and wear layer. There is a choice of natural stone tiles, ceramic tiles, wood flooring or „only“ liquid plastic as the final coating.

The products used for ISOTEC balcony renovation are certified, odorless and free from environmentally harmful substances. Extensive testing and the ecological compatibility of the products used are very important to us. When is the best time to renovate a flat roof or roof terrace?
We recommend that our customers tackle a renovation after the summer, i.e. in September or October. From June to August, construction work on the island is only permitted to a very limited extent in order to protect the peace and quiet of tourists. Most of our roofs are renovated between November and April. The reason: most customers only react when it is already too late and the moisture has caused massive damage. Planning refurbishment in good time saves time and money.
Free damage analysisWe offer our customers a free damage analysis and then create three different remediation concepts to permanently eliminate the moisture. This enables us to ensure that we find a suitable solution for every budget.
