If this option is not available, gelled water is another viable alternative, especially for potted plants. Gelled water, available in the form of gel or gelatine tablets, continuously supplies plants with the necessary nutrients and moisture for up to 30 days.

Another option is to purchase hydro pots or watering cans that are equipped with a built-in drip irrigation system.
