Increasing demand for real estate in Mallorca

Aufwärtstrend beim Immobilienkauf auf Mallorca
Upward trend in real estate purchases on Mallorca continues despite Corona

While the coronavirus year led to less interest in properties abroad, real estate portals and brokers are now seeing an upward trend. Buying a property in Mallorca is and remains an interesting option - whether as your own home, vacation accommodation or a rental property.

It was and is not easy: the coronavirus pandemic is still disrupting many plans. Not only for vacations and travel, but also and especially when buying property. Many prospective buyers who had already intended to purchase last year have had to postpone their plans indefinitely. Although the situation is only gradually improving at the moment, the upturn in demand is clearly noticeable.

Mallorca in particular is currently enjoying low incidences thanks to effective and sustainable protective measures. The first, cautious openings at Easter, combined with effective concepts, have brought the island national and international attention, despite all the prophecies of doom. This could help Mallorca return to economic and tourist normality sooner than expected.

The real estate industry will definitely benefit. The major portals are already registering growing demand from potential buyers from Germany, the UK and France. In terms of interest, offers on the Balearic Islands rank third, behind Alicante and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, according to the real estate portal Idealista.

Those who invest now can hope for comparatively cheap offers. Many properties have been empty for months due to the lockdown. Owners want to part with properties in order to move to new locations and opportunities. This makes the real estate market in Mallorca more interesting than ever.

Popular with investors are properties in rural regions with good access to the beach and sea. Of course, accessibility also plays a role. In both cases, the Balearic Islands and Mallorca in particular score highly.
