Spain's top buyers: German real estate buyers in second place
In the ranking of foreign nations whose citizens are currently looking to buy or rent property in most of Spain's urban centers, Germany is in second place behind Great Britain. This is according to the latest statistics from the real estate brokerage portal „Idealista“. In the past four weeks, the online platform registered search queries from the UK in a total of 193 coastal communities in Spain, while search queries from Germany were registered in a total of 127 communities along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. In third place are the French, who looked for a property to buy or rent in 54 coastal towns.
Foreigners also accounted for almost 19 percent of all searches for properties close to the coast throughout Spain.
In Mallorca, Germans are even ahead of locals in terms of the frequency of search queries in some municipalities. For example, 60 percent of all inquiries for purchase and rental properties in Cala D´Or, Cala Ratjada or Santanyí came from Germany.
