The Spanish government supports the installation of heating systems from renewable energies. We tell you what financial aid is available and how much it is
.The Spanish government subsidizes private investments in ecological technologies, such as electric cars or environmentally friendly home technology. Property owners in Mallorca can benefit from various public subsidies. The range of government subsidy programs for private or commercial investments in environmentally friendly technologies for the home and yard is more extensive than ever before.
&p>Public subsidies for photovoltaic systems to reduce energy and electricity consumption in private households or commercial properties have long been rare in Mallorca and, if at all,
only limited. The so-called „sun tax“ restricted the production of renewable energies in the country. Now things have changed. The Spanish government now recognizes the right to consume solar power and share it with multiple consumers. The new law also makes it possible for consumers to be compensated by the electricity company for unused energy on each monthly bill.
However, solar systems are only subsidized if they serve as an additional source of energy generation alongside the conventional electricity grid. The amount of subsidy support depends on various factors.
For single-family homes:
▶ 600 euros for every kilowatt hour produced by the installed PV system.
▶ 655 euros for every kilowatt hour produced in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
Für multi-family homes:
▶ 710 euros for every kilowatt hour produced by the PV system.
▶ 765 euros for every kilowatt hour produced in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
An example of a solar system in a single-family home with an output of 3 kilowatts, the cost of which is 5,000 euros, is subsidized by the state with 1,800 euros, which corresponds to 35 percent of the installation costs.
A residents' association of an apartment building with five owner-occupied units that installs a solar power system with an output of 10 kW receives a subsidy of 7,100 euros, which corresponds to 47 percent of the total costs. In this case, the subsidy amount would be 26,750 euros, which also accounts for 35 percent of the installation costs.
In addition, many municipalities grant property tax deductions and other tax benefits that further shorten the amortization period.Subsidies for solar power batteries
The Spanish government also wants to create incentives in the form of subsidies for the purchase and installation of solar power storage systems, such as accumulators and batteries.
The subsidies provide for grants of around 490 euros/kWh, which corresponds to around 70 percent of the investment, regardless of whether it is for individual or collective self-consumption. This amount rises to 505 euros/kWh in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants or in municipalities with up to 20,000 inhabitants and facilities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
Subsidies for sustainable heating systems in Mallorca
In Mallorca, it is also possible to apply for state subsidies for the installation of sustainable heating and cooling systems, such as heat pumps. These apply to various types of systems, including solar collectors for hot water production, geothermal and hydrothermal heating systems and air circulation pumps.
Solar heating systems receive grants of up to 1,800 euros for private and commercial systems with an output of up to 50 kW. For systems with a higher heating output of between 50 and 100 kW, up to 1,050 euros per household can be applied for. In addition, there is funding of up to 385 euros for the decommissioning of outdated heating systems in houses and apartments with high electricity consumption.
Renewable heating and air conditioning systems are also subsidized. Various technologies such as thermal solar collectors, biomass systems, geothermal and hydrothermal systems and aerothermal systems are financed.
Solar thermal systems can receive up to 820 euros per household for systems with an output of over 400 kW, up to 950 euros for systems with an output of between 100 and 400 kW, up to 1,050 euros for systems with an output of between 50 and 100 kW and up to 1,800 euros for systems with an output of up to 50 kW.
Biomass systems can receive up to 2,500 euros per system and household and up to 3,000 euros for local heating appliances and households. In addition, a further subsidy of 480 euros can be applied for for the decommissioning of older systems.
For geothermal and hydrothermal systems, up to 13,500 euros per dwelling can be applied for for closed loop systems and up to 9,000 euros per dwelling for open loop systems.
Aerothermal systems can receive up to 3,000 euros. Indoor circulation systems (without biomass) can receive up to 3,600 euros for underfloor heating systems and up to 1,830 euros for low-temperature radiators or fan coil units.
Installation of charging stations
In addition to subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, the MOVES III program also includes grants to finance domestic charging stations. The subsidy for this measure is 70 percent for individuals, natural persons and communities of owners in general and 80 percent if the measure is carried out in a municipality with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.
